Adele Makes History With Buckingham Palace And Amazon

Adele tops the Amazon charts as best-selling artist of all time with album "21" just as she heads to Buckingham Palace to receive her title of Most Excellent Order of the British Empire (MBE).

(COLUMBIA RECORDS) - Adele is having a fantastic year. The Grammy and Oscar award-winning singer is reigning at the top of the Amazon charts as best-selling artist of all time with her album "21" just as she heads to Buckingham Palace to receive her title of Most Excellent Order of the British Empire (MBE) on Thursday (December 19). Amazon said more than 28 million copies of "21" were sold worldwide.

It was announced that Adele was awarded an MBE - member of the Most Excellent Order of the British Empire - for services to music by Britain's Queen of Elizabeth IIback in June during the monarch's official 87th birthday. She will head to the palace to be presented with the award by the royal family on Thursday (December 19).

One of Britain's best-selling artists, the 25-year-old has won a string of international awards for songs such as "Rolling in the Deep," "Someone Like You" and "Skyfall," a James Bond theme. She won an Academy Award for best original song for ''Skyfall,'' a total of nine Grammys, taking home six in 2012 for "21" including Album of the Year and Song of the Year for "Rolling in the Deep" and two Grammys in 2009 for her work on her debut album "19," which also made Amazon's top selling album list at No. 8 with global sales estimated at more than six million.
