Antonio Banderas debut his line of wines NEW YORK CITY, NEW YORK, UNITED STATES OF AMERICA (OCTOBER 12, 2011) (HOLLYWOODTV - Actor Antonio Banderas is now the spokesman for Anta Banderas, a line of Spanish wines he introduced this past weekend at the annual "South Beach Wine and Food Festival" in Miami, Florida. Before heading to the Oscars in Los Angeles on Sunday, Banderas, 51, spent an hour on Saturday at Miami wine shop, Sunset Corners, where he signed bottles and discussed his love of wines. "I always wanted to produce my own wine, but it requires time that I do not have," Banderas told Miami New Times, "Then I found Anta Project. Maximum quality vineyards and grapes, and ultimate technology in the 'bodega' (winery). I traveled with my family in 2008 and we loved the place and the team. The decision was made, it was family winery, just what I was looking for." The winery began production in 1999 under the name Anta Bodegas in Ribera del Duero, a popular growing region just north of Madrid known for producing Temparanillo. When Banderas joined in 2009, the winery was renamed Anta Banderas. It currently consists of 235 acres of vineyard in two separate areas, one near the winery and one at nearly 2,800 feet above sea level. © Copyright Hollywood.TV.
