Music legend B.B. King headlines National Memorial Day Concert.

Blues legend B.B. King lead the celebrations in Washington on Memorial Day.

It's an annual holiday in the United States to honour the dead from every war.

King has been a fixture on the U.S. music scene for 60 years and has recorded more than 50 albums.

Still, the 85-year-old showed he still knows how to rock.

From legends to the newcomers, American Idol contestant Pia Toscana and winner Kris Allen paid

tribute to the stars and stripes.

U.S. public broadcaster PBS has broadcast the National Memorial Day Concert from the West Lawn of the U.S. Capitol for the past two decades.

And the concert was also broadcast live to U.S. service members stationed overseas and serving on on U.S. Navy ships.
