Beyonce prepares to star in the remake of "A Star Is Born".

NEW YORK CITY, NEW YORK, UNITED STATES  - Over the course of 15 years Beyonce Knowles has found success as everything from a 'single lady', to a 'girl who runs the world'.

Now the Texas born singer is preparing to play the lead in the remake of "A Star Is Born" directed by Hollywood veteran Clint Eastwood.

Beyonce, singer, saying

"I didn't think that I would ever get the opportunity to be the star and I met with Clint and I was so nervous and I know that it is the biggest opportunity of my life."

An now, Beyonce is also busy managing her own singing career -- a job her father, Matthew Knowles, used to do.

Beyonce, singer, saying

"Having to balance the two is really hard and really making sure that I'm still doing my job which is to be the performer and the entertainer and not have to do everyone else's job so that mine doesn't suffer, that's been a challenge. But I'm having a great time and I'm sleeping with my Blackberry, I'm having dreams that I'm answering e-mails, like it's that far."

In June Beyonce released her fourth studio album "4".

And while it's filled with up tempo tracks and love songs, the Diane Warren power ballad, "I Was Here" holds special meaning.

Beyonce, singer, saying

"I got a call from Diane and she played the song on the guitar over the phone and I said, 'Oh my God, I have to have this song'. And it was inspired by 9/11 and it's the tenth anniversary and I thought wow, this really completes my album and gives it so much heart."

On September 4th a very excited Beyonce will celebrate a milestone birthday.

Beyonce, singer, saying

"I turn 30."

And the chart-topping star says she has no plans to slow down.

Beyonce, singer, saying

"I have learned from my husband and just life experience that it's too hard to say, you know. I said I was going to retire at 30, it's not happening, I was 15, I didn't know. So I'll say that I definitely will have other focus, a bigger focus, but hopefully it will still be entertaining in some kind of way."

Knowles is scheduled to begin filming "A Star Is Born" at the end of the year.
