British One Direction vs. USA One Direction in cross-filed copyright complaints

Both 'One Direction' bands sue each other

NEW YORK, NEW YORK, UNITED STATES OF AMERICA (MARCH 08, 2012) (HOLLYWOODTV) - One Direction the American band had already filed a $1 million trademark lawsuit against the British One Direction, and now Simon Cowell's record label Simco and Sony Music Entertainment have filed a countersuit, and it is currently unclear who will be able to use the name globally. Each side claims copyright infringement and use prior to the other side, so it will be up to the courts to decide who can keep one of the hottest monikers in the music business.
