LOS ANGELES, CALIFORNIA, UNITED STATES (REUTERS  / AMC/SONY) - The journey of Walter White came to an end on Sunday (September 29) as fans of "Breaking Bad" finally learned the fate of the chemistry teacher turned drug kingpin. U.S. cable television channel AMC's cult drug drama concluded after a five-season run. The Emmy-winning show has captured audiences with its gritty plot about Walter, played by Bryan Cranston, a cancer-stricken chemistry teacher who turns to cooking methamphetamine with an ex-student in order to make money for his family.

Katy Perry said she had suicidal thoughts after her marriage to Russell Brand fell apart, in an interview with music magazine Billboard. She also revealed that her songs stemmed from real life moments and if fans listened to the tracks, they would know "the real truth about stuff." Brand filed for divorced in 2011, a year after they married in India.

Hugh Jackman received the Golden Icon Award at this year's Zurich Film Festival in recognition of his achievements on stage and screen. The actor also presented "Prisoners," which has been garnering early Oscar buzz. The festival will run through October 6.

"Cloudy With a Chance of Meatballs 2" took the top spot at U.S. and Canadian box offices with $35 million in ticket sales. Last weekend's box office title holder "Prisoners" brought in $11.3 million over the weekend. And "Rush," a re-telling of 1970s Formula 1 rivals, zoomed in third, with $10.3 million.
