Fan site settles with FTC over children's privacy violations.

LOS ANGELES, CALIFORNIA AND NEW YORK CITY, NEW YORK UNITED STATES  (HOLLYWOODTV) - Warner music owned Artist Arena, which runs fan site for teen idols Justin Bieber and Selena Gomezand other entertainers like Rihanna has settled with the FTC. The company faced federal charges that it unlawfully gathered personal information from children. Artist Arena not the artists themselves faced charges of violating the Children's Online Privacy Protection Act by not obtaining parental consent for kids under the age of 13 who signed up for the sites like bieberfever.com and selenagomez.com. Artist Arena agreed to pay a $1 million fine and delete all personal data collected from the minors.
