Charlie Sheen tells RadarOnline.com he is clean and sober. He reacts to an interview in which his father labels him an addict and hits back at claims his behaviour halted the production of Two and a Half Men. RADAR ONLINE - Charlie Sheen has told a celebrity website he is not a drug addict and is 100 per cent clean. The actor sat down for a half hour interview with RadarOnline and also submitted to two drug tests.Sheen told Howard addiction was no longer part of his brain. "Seriously I don't even think about it," he said. However, he said he didn't like using the word 'sobriety' as it was affiliated with Alcoholics Anonymous: "For 23 years I lost with AA and they offer a success rate of 5 per cent. And I'm running at 100 per cent success rate every day." Sheen said he made the decision to change his lifestyle about two months ago with the help of friends. At the end of January Sheen went into rehab at his home after being rushed to hospital following a reported 36 hour drink and drug bender. "I feel better. I got bored with the other thing. Time to do something different. I had this epiphanous moment of being 45 with 5 kids and it was time to explore other realities," the actor revealed. The production of his sitcom "Two and a Half Men" was put on hold, prompting furious public rants from Sheen about the makers of the show who'd cited concerns about his conduct and condition among their reasons for stopping the show. "I don't know what that means. My conduct is bitchin', my condition is perfect so. I don't know what they're talking about," he said. Sheen was especially critical of Two and a Half Men co-creator Chuck Lorre: "I think they over-reacted. The mistake I made is I thought I was dealing with somebody that might have had a little more salt in his soul than he does." Howard asked Sheen what he meant by his regular referral to the word "winning" in several recent media interviews. "Because some would say that you're defeated now." "They can say that but what kind of car are they driving? What kind of girls are in their home? You gotta consider the source. It's not about external stuff it's about how you feel inside. You make a choice to win and you win. Defeat is not an option," Sheen retorted. When asked how he felt about his father Martin Sheen labelling him an addict in an interview and likening addiction to cancer, Sheen said "Dad, shut it". 'Ok pop walk through a cancer ward right now and find any one of those (beeped expletive) that looks like me." During the interview Sheen also showed off two new tattoos and spoke off camera to his girlfriend - former porn star Bree OIsen. Sheen is the highest paid actor on U.S. television with a reported annual salary of 27.5 million U.S. dollars. Neither he nor the rest of the cast and crew will be paid for the eight lost episodes. His personal issues, including stints in rehab, an admitted penchant for porn stars and prostitutes, and a 2009 attack on his wife, have dominated headlines for the past year. "Two and a Half Men", now in its 8th season, gets about 15 million weekly viewers. TV industry sources said a deal was already in place for a 9th season of the comedy, but they declined to speculate whether Sheen would be in it. |
