A new made-for-tv movie based on the romance of Kate Middleton and Prince William gets slammed by reviewers. LIFETIME - Critics say a new made-for-TV movie about the royal couple is so bad, it could end up being a cult classic. The film titled "William and Kate: The Movie" begins with the two then-students meeting at the University of St. Andrews. The movie then follows them through the ups and downs of their nine-year courtship. British newspaper The Guardian said the film treats the Windsor dynasty as a daytime soap opera. It also faulted the film for the actors' poor British accents and shooting British countryside scenes in Los Angeles...with cars even driving on the wrong side of what is meant to be a British road. U.S. cable network Lifetime will air the movie on April 18. The real William and Kate are set to wed on April 29. Alicia Powell, Reuters. |
