Estonian singer fulfills dream at Eurovision Song Contest

Estonian singer Getter Jaani says it was always her dream to represent her country at the Eurovision Song Contest - a dream which will come true on Thursday (May 12).

DUESSELDORF, GERMANY (MAY 12, 2011) REUTERS - 
The 2011 Eurovision Song Contest is making dreams come true. Especially for a young Estonian lady. 18-year-old Getter Jaani will represent her country at the second semi-final of the competition in Germany with the song 'Rockefeller Street'.



She says that by taking part in the contest, she is fulfilling a lifelong goal.

"Well when I was a little girl my biggest wish was that some day I can represent Estonia at the Eurovision Song Contests. And now I'm here. It's amazing," she told Reuters TV.

The teenager became well-known in Estonia after competing in the television show "Idol Estonia", where she came fourth in the third season. She says her experience on the talent show have helped her with her performance at the ESC.

"I think it helped me very much because now I'm more comfortable and I like to be on stage," she said.

Not only is the teenager living her dream, but she is also among some of the hot contenders to win the outright competition.
