Beyonce and Jay-Z celebrate their anniversary with a trip to Havana, Cuba. HAVANA, CUBA (APRIL 05, 2013)(REUTERS) - Beyonce and hubby Jay-Z continued their 'Havana nights' and day tours in the Cuban capital on Friday (April 5) to the delight of locals who tried to catch a glimpse of the power couple during their trip to the Caribbean nation to celebrate their fifth wedding anniversary. The couple stayed Havana's neo-classical Saratoga Hotel, just steps from Havana's National Capitol Building, home to the Cuban Academy of Sciences. "She's impressive, overwhelming really. To me, she is one of the best singers in the world wherever she goes. We will never be able to forget her entire relationship with Cubans, her way of showing admiration for Cubans," 24-year old singer Marta Rosa Morales said on Friday. The couple has been making many of the tourist stops including a visit to the Havana Cathedral built in the mid-1700s as well as sipping on daiquiris and rum and eating black beans and rice. "Beyonce is one of the best singers in the world and I think it's fantastic that she is here in Cuba with us. It's something fabulous for all us Cubans," 20-year old food critic Yournis Ari said. On Thursday, Jose Cabanas, the top top Cuban diplomat in the United States, said that the media was too fixated on Cuba's best-known dissident and blogger Yoani Sanchez and had not focused enough on positive news coming out of Cuba, such as Beyonce's visit. The Grammy winning Beyonce is scheduled to kick off a European leg of "The Mrs. Carter Show World Tour" in Belgrade on April 15 and will find her way back to North America by summer. |
