Elvis Presley, Whitney Houston, Amy Winehouse and Michael Jackson are among the featured celebrities whose possessions and memorabilia make up a musical icons auction. BEVERLY HILLS, CALIFORNIA, UNITED STATES - A lock of Elvis Presley's hair … or Whitney Houston's passport … could be yours. They're just two of the hundreds of items up for grabs in the Music Icons and Sports Legends Auction to be held at Julien's Auctions in California. Martin Nolan from Julien's says one of the highlights is a collection of 43 Houston items, including several dresses, which are expected to sell well above their 2,000 U.S. dollar starting price. Martin Nolan, Executive Director of Julien's Auctions, saying "There's a huge interest already in the Whitney Houston items and we sold some of her dresses in auction back in March, our Hollywood Legends auction and they were upwards in the region of 20,000 dollars." Other legends represented are Michael Jackson, Amy Winehouse and John Lennon. And in an Olympic year, an item that should attract a lot of interest, is the torch from the 1996 Olympics in Atlanta, signed by boxing great, Muhammad Ali. The Music Icons and Sports Legends Auction will take place in Beverly Hills on June 23rd and 24th. Tara Cleary, Reuters. |
