NEW YORK, UNITED STATES (MARINA ABRAMOVIC INSTITUTE) - Lady Gaga has decided to bare it all in a new video for the Marina Abramovic Institute. The singer reportedly went on a three day retreat with performance artist Marina Abramovic - known for her long-form art installations, and more recently for her celebrity collaborations with the likes of Jay Z - to perform a variety of exercises designed to 'heighten a participants awareness of their physical and mental experience at the present moment.'
Gaga first appears lying on the floor of a room, chanting to herself. The video then turns into a montage of sorts, showing the singer naked in the woods, sitting with Abramovic on chairs in a pond, and hugging a giant crystal.
The video is being used to promote a Kickstarter campaign designed to raise money for Abramovic's institute, which she hopes to build in upstate New York.
Gaga has been relatively out of the public eye since she canceled her tour in February due to health complications. In addition to the Abramovic video, Gaga is due to perform at the MTV Video Music Awards on August 25, and release her next album, ARTPOP, on November 11.
