Star Magazine just issued a huge apology to Katie Holmes LOS ANGELES, CALIFORNIA, UNITED STATES HOLLYWOODTV - Katie Holmes filed a $50 million (USD) defamation lawsuit against Star magazine last month. She claimed the magazine's January headline of "Addiction Nightmare! Katie Drug Shocker!" with her on the cover was "untrue, unethical and unlawful." The lawsuit has now been settled and the magazine has made a large donation to Katie's charity and issued an official apology. STAR apologizes to Katie Holmes-Inside is on the cover of the latest issue. Inside the magazine there is an apology that reads in part "Star did not intend to suggest that Ms. Holmes was a drug addict or was undergoing treatment for a drug addiction. Star apologizes to Ms. Holmes for any misperception..."
