Lady Gaga takes over popular social online game Farmville leading up to the release of her latest album.
REUTERS/ZYNGA - Lady Gaga has joined the popular online social game Farmville.

For nine days from May 17, Farmville's 46 million players who manage a virtual farm where they harvest crops and raise livestock - will get a neighbouring farm called Gagaville.

It's part of the publicity drive for the May 23 release of Gaga's latest album, "Born This Way."

Incorporating key themes from the album, Farmville players can unlock a digital radio service, allowing them to stream songs from "Born This Way" - before the general public.

Lady Gaga is currently putting herself through a relentless promotional campaign in the US, France and the UK to publicise the album, which she's co-produced herself.

But her packed schedule has some wondering when she'll allow herself a well earned day off.
