Lindsay Lohan accident mystery: Lindsay hiding injuries? Attempted hit-and-run? Other driver offered bribe?

LOS ANGELES, CALIFORNIA, UNITED STATES OF AMERICA (MAY 23, 2010) (HOLLYWOODTV) - Lindsay Lohan crashed into an 18-wheeler yesterday on her way to the set of the Elizabeth Taylor biopic she's starring in, requiring her to be temporarily hospitalized for bruising and bleeding.

However, the driver of the truck who was struck by the troubled actress claims that Lindsay was attempting to flee the scene, and that he was offered a bribe by the people that prevented him from getting close to Lindsay Lohan at the scene of the accident, even though she was the driver who struck him. Instead, Lohan's assistant allegedly filled up a pink bag with an unknown substance from Lindsay's Porsche and then piled clothing on top of that, and assisted the driver of the tailing Escalade in keeping the driver away from Lindsay.

Said the trucker, "Him and the guy took me across the street and told me this was some kind of famous person and they didn't want to be in the media. But I'd already called 911 because they were trying to get away from the scene. But they packed a bag and then the limousine driver told me, 'Don't mention the bag to the cops.'"

The driver further refutes Lohan's notion that the trucker cut her off, saying that he was already in the rightmost lane and that multiple witnesses saw Lindsay "flying" down the highway in her Porsche. Finally, sources report that Lindsay is hiding the severity of her injuries so as not to frighten the producer of the 'Liz & Dick' production, as the troubled actress is still struggling to restore her image as a reliable performer.
