LONDON, ENGLAND, UK (NOVEMBER 14, 2011) (REUTERS) - Actress Meryl Streep, together with director Phyllida Lloyd attended the photocall for their new movie "The Iron Lady" on Monday (November 14) on the banks of London's River Thames. After a failed attempt at unveiling the film's new movie poster by pulling a piece of chord, Streep and Lloyd resorted to taking the white cover off by hand. "The Iron Lady" tells the story of former British Prime Minister Margaret Thatcher and offers an intimate portrait of her. The film stars Oscar winner Streep as Lady Thatcher and British actor Jim Broadbent as her husband Denis Thatcher. Their younger selves are played by Alexandra Roach and Harry Lloyd respectively. The film, which is directed by "Mamma Mia" director Phyllida Lloyd, is released on January 6, 2012, in the UK. |
