Michael J. Fox gets standing ovation at the Emmy awards.

LOS ANGELES, CALIFORNIA, UNITED STATES (SEPTEMBER 23, 2012) ( ACADEMY OF TELEVISION ARTS & SCIENCES AND AMERICAN BROADCASTING COMPANY) - Hollywood favorite Michael J. Fox received a standing ovation when he took the stage at the 64th Annual Primetime Emmy Awards on Sunday (September 23). The television veteran quipped that laughter was indeed the best medicine.

Fox, who suffers from Parkinson's, walked the red carpet and posed for photographs. He then went on stage to announce the prize for the best comedy series.

The 51-year old will be making a return to the small screen in a new series loosely based on his own life. It will begin shooting later this year.
