PIERS MORGAN TONIGHT FOR CNN - It's premiere week for Brit Piers Morgan who officially takes over veteran talk show host Larry King's CNN time slot with his own show, "Piers Morgan Tonight."

Morgan, a former tabloid newspaper editor in England, made a name for himself in the U.S. as a judge on "America's Got Talent."

He'll kick things off with a one-on-one with talk show host Oprah Winfrey, in which she describes to Morgan some old personal letters she has kept in a safety deposit box.

Morgan has vowed to overthrow the U.S. talk show formula, which he says consists of celebrities appearing just to promote their latest film, book or music album.

He also says the show will give a good "butt-kicking" to rival programs by being entertaining and provocative.

Morgan beat out a number of U.S. personalities that had hoped to fill the shoes of King who retired from his "Larry King Live" show after 25 years.
