The world waits as crews ready red carpet for the arrival of Hollywood's biggest stars at the 86th Academy Awards. LOS ANGELES, CALIFORNIA, UNITED STATES (MARCH 02, 2014) (REUTERS) - Things look absolutely normal on the red carpet in front of the Dolby Theatre in Hollywood, where later in the day the biggest stars in the world will make their appearance on their way to the 86th Academy Awards.
Meanwhile, media from around the world were doing their best to get ready for the entertainment industry's biggest night. "Everybody dreams of Hollywood all year long, we watch all the movies and we are very excited about all the stars coming here," explained Valerie DeFert, of France 24 news. "It is a dream come true for everybody." The event is one that is truly global, with last year's audience numbering more than 40 million viewers in the U.S. alone. All told the Oscars will be broadcast in more than 200 countries. For the lucky fans who won an online lottery to attend in person, the red carpet arrivals are a once in a lifetime event. |"She entered through People magazine online," explained Barbara Highland, ofChicago, Illinois, who came to Hollywood with her sister. "She was lucky enough to get chosen and messaged me and said 'Hey we are going to the Oscars do you want to come.' Who would say no."
