Rihanna explains why she worked with her abusive ex-boyfriend on two songs

LOS ANGELES, CALIFORNIA, UNITED STATES (VARIOUS DATES) (HOLLYWOODTV) - R&B singer Rihanna (Umbrella) called radio station KIIS FM to talk to Ryan Seacrest and explain her reason for asking her abusive ex boyfriend, R&B singer Chris Brown, to work on two songs with her. She revealed that it was purely a business decision, saying: "I reached out to him about doing 'Birthday Cake' because that's the only person that really made sense to do the record - - just as a musician. Despite everything else, that was gonna be the person. I thought about rappers, and I've done that so many times, and the hottest R&B artist out right now is Chris Brown. So I wanted him on the track". It seems like she is willing to overlook the fact that he brutally abused her in 2009 in order to make some good music.
